Pat Banks is an artist, teacher, wife, mother and activist.  She and her husband Alan are founding members of the Kentucky Riverkeeper, associated with the Waterkeeper Aliance.  She has served on the board in many capacities such as events, education and advocacy. She has accepted the new responsibilities and honor of being your Kentucky Riverkeeper. She is a trained water sampler with the Kentucky Watershed Watch, has attended numerous training workshops and is a member of the Siera Club, National Wildlife Foundation and others.  She brings her artist's vision, thinking outside of the box and skills of organizing people and events to the job. She hopes to inspire people from all walks of life to take an active role in the stewardship of their land, air and water. These resources are too precious to destroy and must be protected for our children and grand children.

The beauty of our hills, valleys and river inspires the expression of an artist and the concern of an environmentalist. Take the time to walk paths in the woods and fields, float down the eternal streams, and rivers and study the "wild things"! We will all be in a better place if we don't lose touch with our environment.
